Arethusa orienteering is for beginners to the sport and covers basic navigation, compass work, map reading and thinking skills.
It is a fun activity where students follow instructions whilst having to think for themselves. Working together in small groups it develops a competitive camaraderie.
Arethusa offers 4 different orienteering courses to suit different age groups depending on time, pace and the amount of fun you can manage.
The teams learn basic map skills which help them to navigate the course, collecting tags along the way.
It is a race against the clock to see which team can find the most tags in the time given. A competitive element can be introduced as required.
